International flights: a guide and recommendations

Use the internet. Avoid the “leave your details and we will call you back”. They will push hard for a sell at poor rates.

  • Flights2All.com cover flights, car hire, hotels, cruises, last minute deals, web fares, activities and event tickets. Hotel rates include a 110% price guarantee on their Save Rate deals: find a better price after booking with them and they will refund the difference and give you an additional 10% of the difference. Find out more about how that works.
  • Book with them, and send an email to admin@flights2all.com indicating that you want proceeds to go towards a Team Zimbabwe project, and its done. They will pass 90% of all net revenue relating to your bookings to a Team Zimbabwe project.
  • Connecting flights: If you can, try to book through to your final destination in one go, using one agent, airline, or partner airlines: it helps in case your initial flight delays and you miss the connecting flight. BUT, also search for connecting flights yourself as the search engines sometimes don’t link up well with all available flights at the other end. Do check the flight times and check how much you will really save. In any case, always get travel insurance before you go!  See below.
  • Try different days of the week each way: e.g. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday tend to be cheaper than Mondays and Friday. Avoid school holidays and popular holidays if you can.
  • Travelling to Bulawayo or Victoria Falls? Try both the Johannesburg – Byo and Harare – Byo routes. Jo’burg is the cheapest city to get to in Southern Africa.
