"Solutions for Zimbabweans abroad: Cheap calls to Zimbabwe"

Switch and save

Switching utilities and services can save you thousands

Many in the diaspora will agree: most of our money just disappears before we even handle it. Yes, the taxman, the power companies, the landlord (or bank if mortgaged), and all the other providers. That is where most savings can and should be made.

Here is a true story:

One family of 3 had an annual insurance bill of over £2500, yet they were underinsured: they had the mandatory car insurance (x2), mortgage and buildings cover, but not much else! If the parents died, the mortgage was going to be paid off, and that’s it. Their child was going to be left with just a house. And this was just before the global financial crisis (which caused house prices to plummet)! Yes, it could be worse.

Solution: A couple of hours spent searching and switching using Moneysupermarket.com got the family:

  1. All types of insurance they already had (as above)
  2. Additional insurance policies including term life insurance (worth £500,000 for both parents), annual travel insurance, contents cover, (and more).
  3. £1500.00 back: Yes, all policies including the new ones now cost around £1000 (and not £2500.00).

Yes, £1500.00 saved off the annual bill, and now better covered. Time spent: 2 hours!

We know that many in the diaspora are not adequately insured but guess what, it might not cost a penny more.  Compare prices on pretty much everything including gas, electricity, home telephone, mobiles, digital tv, broadband services, etc, and change provider where necessary to save. Follow some of the guidance on this site and you will save a fortune. With more money in our pockets, who knows? We might all manage to rebuild our country!

Go ahead, find a great deal: gas, electricity, insurance, broadband, etc. Moneysupermarket.com will help you save thousands of dollars.
