Rip-off shops

Some people seem to have missed the point about online services and shops. Its all meant to make things cheaper, otherwise, why bother.
Moreover, local shops in Zimbabwe are bursting with basic goods and prices have continued to come down.
- 2kg white sugar: R35 in April 09, R30 in May 09, R23 in October 09, R19 in Dec 09, and R15 in 2010
Don’t take our word for it, get someone to visit a nearby supermarket (such as ‘Spar’) to check for you. Ask for specific information, eg: 2kg flour, 2kg white sugar, 2 litres cooking oil, etc – including the brand name, and then compare with some online grocery shops!
- 2kg white sugar: Zim shop = R15. Diaspora online shop = R51
- 2 litres cooking oil: Zim shop = R19. Diaspora shop = R75
- 1 loaf of bread: = R6. Diaspora shop = R20
This is not a fight against anyone, but rather a request for fairness.
